Professional clay - for creating art that lasts

Professional clay is a high-quality material used in the arts and crafts industry to make sculptures, ceramics, models and other works of art. Unlike ordinary clays used for basic art projects, professional clay offers special characteristics and technical advantages that make it ideal for professional artists, ceramicists, sculptors and industrial designers.
Properties of professional clay:

Elasticity and Workability: Professional clay is specially designed to be easy to work with, with exceptional elasticity, allowing artists to create precise and detailed shapes. This material is perfect for delicate work, as it does not break easily during shaping.

Plasticity: This clay has an ideal plasticity that allows easier modeling. This is important because artists can work with the clay for longer, without worrying about it drying or hardening before completing the design.

Finishing: Professional clay is suitable for all kinds of finishing techniques, such as glazing, painting, patinated techniques, firing or even combining with other materials. Clay can accommodate a variety of textures, colors and finishes, giving it great versatility.

Uses in art and industry: Professional clay is essential in all stages of artistic creation, from sculptures to industrial designs. Artists involved in modern and classical sculpture, ceramics, and even in the product modeling industry use this type of clay to achieve precise, long-lasting, and high-quality results. Due to its durability and resistance, professional clay is often used in the creation of unique sculptures that must stand the test of time, as well as in industrial projects where precise but long-lasting forms are required. Professional clay is a key material for any artist and craftsman who takes on serious projects and wants to achieve high quality and precision. With its versatility, possibilities for detailed work and long-lasting durability, it offers unlimited possibilities for creating art that lasts.

FAQs

What is Sculpture Pro?

Sculpture Pro is a professional oil-based clay developed for industrial designers, concept artists, sculptors, and special effects creators. Unlike polymer clay, it does not require baking and stays workable indefinitely, making it ideal for iterative modeling, prototyping, and high-detail sculpting.

How is Sculpture Pro different from Papa’s Clay polymer clays?

Papa’s Clay is a bakeable polymer clay, while Sculpture Pro is a non-hardening, oil-based clay. Sculpture Pro stays soft and reusable, offering extended working time — perfect for large-scale maquettes, automotive models, or fine art sculptures.

Does Sculpture Pro harden or dry out over time?

No. Sculpture Pro is non-drying and non-hardening. It remains pliable at room temperature and can be reused or reworked endlessly.

Can Sculpture Pro be baked or cured?

No. Sculpture Pro is not designed for baking or curing. It is a professional sculpting medium for temporary or mold-making applications. For permanent pieces, it can be used to create a model that is then molded and cast in resin, silicone, or other materials.

What is the working temperature of Sculpture Pro?

Sculpture Pro is formulated to be firm at room temperature and responsive to hand warmth or external heat. You can warm it slightly using a heat gun, lamp, or clay oven to soften it for fine detail work.

Can I paint or finish Sculpture Pro directly?

Since it's oil-based and doesn’t cure, Sculpture Pro is not meant to be painted directly. It’s primarily used for sculpting originals that are later molded and cast. However, it can be textured, tooled, and surfaced in great detail before molding.

Is it safe and non-toxic?

Yes. Sculpture Pro is non-toxic, odorless, and made from high-quality, professional-grade materials. However, it is not intended for use by children or for projects involving food or skin contact.

Who is Sculpture Pro for?

Sculpture Pro is ideal for:

  • Concept modelers in automotive and product design
  • Stop-motion puppet sculptorsFX and prop designers
